Spring Greens – Alberta style! (Travel Theme: Fresh)

In Calgary & Area Attractions, Fine Art Photography, Photography, Travel

I promised myself I’d quit focusing on the wintery whites of spring after my last post, and Mother Nature has finally cooperated!   Leaves exploded, and May showers (and rainbows) brought out spring flowers (we’re about 2 months later than everywhere else here!)  Fresh, lush, greens abounded.

These are all wonderful, Suzan. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Castle Mountain – wow, wow, wow!

Thanks Dianne. Castle Mountain is an imposing, but impressive, landmark visible from many points along the highway between Banff and Lake Louise. When you get in closer to the base it feels like a fortress rising out of the ground. Apparently from 1946 to 1979 it was named Mt. Eisenhower after the celebrated general – but public pressure had it reverted to its original 1858 name.

I never tire of the mountains Imelda and, because I live on the western edge of the city, they’re only a 45 minute drive from my front door. Great for an ‘I need to escape’ afternoon with the camera! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Bente, I’m surrounded by glorious countryside and wide open spaces here! Love it when I can make time to get out and appreciate it!

Your LIKE buttons never load when I come by so I can never let you know just how many blog posts I visit each time. Obviously I don’t have time to comment on every single one but I went back in time from this post to the beginning of April to see what you’ve been up to. I approve of everything, as if you need my approval, but your work and posts are always so beautiful.

Russel, that LIKE button is becoming the bane of my life! I have my web gal working on it, and looking for an alternative to the Jetpack plug-in which they think may be causing it. Thanks for your approval!! Needed or not, it’s always welcome.
