Travel Theme – Pink
It’s been a while since I’ve participated in a blog challenge, but Ailsa’s theme of ‘Pink’ offered to get me out of the winter blues. Going through just last year’s photo collection produced a plethora of ‘pretty in pink‘. Flowers were the obvious choice, and there are plenty of those, but everything from spectacular skies to foreign washing machines hits this gallery! Small jealousy over the BC flowers as the images were taken in October, where they were still blooming, and gardeners were doing their ‘second planting’ of frost tolerant annuals. Calgary’s growing season, if we’re lucky, runs from May to September.

A blazing sky, on a mild January morning, blankets Calgary.

A brightly framed door in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

A variation on a washing machine not seen in N.America, but quite common in Mexico.

Hot car on display at the Airdrie Air Show

Nothing says pink like a neon flamingo sign, at the Glenbow Museum.

Pretty in pink leads to total relaxation – seen at the Tsuu T’ina rodeo.

A gorgeous pink sunset glow highlights Victoria Harbour.

Hydrangea at the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC.

Crabapple blossoms in Calgary – another 2 months before these start to appear!

Hot pink Dahlia, Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC.

Delicate pink, late-blooming roses – Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC.

Brilliant Bougainvillea at Canopy River near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

My own Double Flowering Plum which had a boom year for blossoms in 2013.

Hot pink, almost purple, Chrysanthemum’s – Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC.

Delicate Coral Bells (I think!) – Port Renfrew, BC
I love these themes and seeing the photos that are chosen. These are beautiful for this challenge – many lovely shades of pink! 😀
I’m going to have to start participating more again. I’ve been in such a slump this very long annoying winter, that I haven’t felt like it. But going through all the pics of last year is a lot of fun! I’m also in the process of putting together my annual family photobook for 2013, and that’s been fun too. I’m up to April and it’s already 62 pages long. (I took 1900 photos in July alone LOL – and that doesn’t include the ones shot for clients.) Whittling them down is a challenge. 😀
I like them all, but the second one is my favorite. If you don’t see a “like”, it’s because the thing’s not loading up.

Thanks Janet! I’m going to have my web gal look at that pesky Like button again – it is notoriously unreliable!
I have a think for coloured doors and doorways. Mexico provides me with a bounty! 😀
Thanks for stopping in!
Lovely pink series. PS. Your Like-button don’t work on my computer..
Thanks Bente. I’m going to get that Like button fixed for once and for all – it’s a pain!
Still issues with the like button, but glorious pinks 🙂
Thanks Johanna and welcome to the blog. Chatting with somebody yesterday, apparently this is a WordPress issue (no kidding), relating to Internet Explorer 10 (and then ‘contaminating’ Chrome and every other browser. I just upgraded to IE 11 – same issue so, back to the drawing board! I appreciate the comments though. 😀
