Weekly Photo Challenge: Hands

 In Family Photography, Photography

I love hands – baby hands, big hands, holding hands, helping hands, elderly hands… the list goes on.

Beautiful baby girl hands.

According to Wikipedia “hands are the main structures for physically manipulating the environment, used for both gross motor skills (such as grasping a large object) and fine motor skills (such as picking up a small pebble)”.

Incapacitated by an IV in the right hand years ago, I discovered just how dependent I was on my own hands – particularly that right one.  Kneading dough for bread, painting, walking the dog… Even all cameras are aimed at shooting right-handed.

I leave you with three for the challenge this week.  Not planned, but all are the hands of Sophia – one of my favourite little models.  1 month, 1 year and 3 years…

1st Birthday hands – how better to eat cake.

Holding hands with a little angel.

Thank you – it was fun looking through my collection – hadn’t quite realized just how many could have fit into this week’s challenge.
